In today’s blog we are following up on our Shaman’s Blog post Chakras 101 – The Third or Solar Plexus Chakra describing some of the stones for healing and balancing the solar plexus chakra. Some gemstones often associated with the Solar Plexus Chakra are Amber, Citrine, Sunstone, Topaz, Yellow Calcite and Yellow Carnelian
Stones for the Solar Plexus Chakra
Amber – Amber is technically not a gemstone or mineral, but fossilized sap from prehistoric trees that has aged over the course of millions of years. Amber is usually thought of as yellow golden in hue, but amber also can be found in shades of milky white, red-orange, green, black and even (very rarely) violet.
Use Amber with the Solar Plexus Chakra to increase confidence and mental clarity. It helps bring forth a care-free and sunny disposition, and stimulates creative self-expression.
Citrine – Citrine is a yellow or golden variety of quartz. It is mostly transparent, but may be cloudy. This crystal is easily obtained, and can be found in Brazil, Russia, Britain, France, Madagascar and the United States.
Citrine is an energizing yellow stone that carries the power of the sun making it a wonderful stone for the solar plexus. It energizes, increases motivation, and heightens self-esteem, personal power, and creativity. It is known as a stone of abundance and can help you recognize that you deserve the success you are trying to manifest. Citrine helps bring happiness and promote inner calm, as well as balances the yin yang energy. It is also used to enhance psychic ability.
Sunstone – The name “sunstone” is used for specimens of translucent to transparent feldspar that have bright orange sparkling inclusions distributed through the stone. These crystals are usually yellow, orange or red-brown. Deposits of this stone have been found in Norway, Greece, Russia, India, Canada and the USA. Its color is yellow, orange or red-brown. In fact, Oregon (our home state) has the largest deposits of sunstone in the USA.
Sunstone instills good nature, heightens intuition and allows the real self to shine through. It encourages independence, helps to reveal inner talents, and encourages originality, optimism and enthusiasm. Sunstone also increases self-worth and confidence. It is especially helpful to those who have difficulty saying “No” to others.
Golden Topaz – Pure topaz is colorless and transparent but is usually tinted by impurities. Typically topaz is wine, yellow, pale gray, reddish-orange, or blue brown. It is a silicate mineral that crystallizes in lava flows like those at Topaz Mountain in Utah. It can also be found in many countries around the world.
Golden Topaz encourages self-realization and confidence helping you to recognize your own abilities and gifts. It can increase self-confidence, enabling you to overcome limitations and attracts helpful people. It helps bring out your charisma and confidence with pride in your abilities.
Yellow Calcite – Calcite is one of the most abundant types of crystal found on the planet. It is the main component in limestone and marble, and most stalactites and stalagmites. Many of the bright colored Calcite Crystals come from large deposits in Mexico.
Yellow calcite boosts your general energy level increasing your personal power and sense of self-worth. It infuses a sense of new hope and optimism to face the future. Yellow calcite stimulates the intellect. It helps organize intellectual thoughts and information.
Yellow calcite is also very helpful for attuning your psychic abilities and in meditation. It assists with channeling, intuitive awareness, shamanic work, and other psychic activities.
Yellow Carnelian – Carnelian is found in nearly all parts of the world. It varies in intensity from deep reddish-brown to a yellow or cream colored translucent stone.
Emotionally, Carnelian gives courage, emotional strength, self-confidence, and dispels fears. It can help you ground and accept your emotions. It can’t change emotions, but helps to change your level of acceptance of the emotion. When the going gets rough, Carnelian is considered to give the strength to carry on. It can be very beneficial for self-examination as well as examination of the circumstances you finds yourself in. You can also carry a Carnelian when you have to make an important decision.
Until next time –
